Young Dancer

The Young Dancer program, for children aged 3 to 5, is designed to introduce children to dance by building on their innate natural movement through different dance genres in a fun and creative way.  Annual studio demonstrations enhance the child’s experience by providing attainable goals and opportunities for teamwork.

Mini Movers Ages 3, 4

This class develops natural movement, acting, and musicality through activities appropriate to the students’ innate creativity and physical skills. Movements are based on classical ballet using fun music by using props and children’s stories that inspire imagination and expression.  Students will learn how to listen, follow, and work with others in a small group environment using music that is age appropriate.

Leap & Learn Ages 4, 5

This class further develops natural movement and creative expression, but also introduces skips, gallops, runs, and jumps. Students expand spatial awareness to include others around them in an effort to learn how to work cooperatively. They learn basic rhythms, will execute patterns and create shapes with other dancers in space. Each class will include sections in classical ballet along with the introduction of other dance genres such as character dance, jazz, and musical theatre dance. The emphasis on imagination and creativity using age appropriate music and story ballets will continue to be the focus at this level and are important aspects of preparing your child for future technique classes.
